Kingston upon Hull

Kingston upon Hull was originally a settlement called Wyke and, often referred to as Hull for short, is the fourth largest city in the Yorkshire and Humber region. It was founded in the late twelfth century.

The settlement was built to export cotton before King Edward I purchased it. It was renamed Kinds Stop upon Hull and shortened to Kingston upon Hull.
